Project Description

The scope of the Project "Centre of New Technologies Ochota University of Warsaw" (hereinafter CeNT) includes construction of two buildings for teaching, together with their equipment. The CeNT will embrace lecture halls, seminar and teaching laboratories, which will benefit students of biology, chemistry, biotechnology, information technology, environmental protection and graduate students. CeNT II building will be dedicated to the Faculty of Physics.

Activities led within the Centre of New Technologies "Ochota" UW will cover areas related primarily to new technologies (biotechnology, biomedical technologies, information technology and new materials.

Realization of the Project results from the need to provide students, postgraduates and young scientists access to modern, well-equipped educational facilities, which would enable the process of their education, especially in the fields of priority, to be effective, modern, and based on the highest standards, providing access to knowledge and practical skills needed on the labor market, in the society and the economy based on innovation.

From the standpoint of impact on the national level, the project reflects the need to ensure an adequate number of specialists in the fields of new technologies, which will support the increased innovation and competitiveness of the Polish economy. In the newly created objects which are part of CeNT selected scientific disciplines, which  have the greatest influence on the rate of technological progress and civilisation, are represented. In the case of the described project these are primarily: biology, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, environmental protection, chemical technology.
